The Two Most Dangerous Men In The World

Yesterday in an episode of "Democracy Now!" They covered a speech from both Julian Assange and Slavo Zizek.  Assange opened the floor with a summary of what happened with him in his illegal arrest and Bradley Manning's unfair treatment as his trusty source.

Assange had been illegally arrested after his cable release to the website Wikileaks.org.  In these cables were documents of crimes America and other countries had commited.  War crimes, favors, money laundering were some of the topics of interest in the cables.  Needless to say the United States Government was not pleased and pressured the European Union (who control the banks in Europe) to arrest and attempt to extradite Assange on invalid charges to Sweden.

Julian goes on to discuss the change in the European Union since the 9/11 terrorist attacks.  It is now legal for the European Union to extradite a person for a bogus charge in order to investigate potential terrorism.  They can also extradite a non citizen to another country to face that countries penalty for a crime.  The only person who can lose in Europe is the citizen.

Zizek then adds to the discussion with his point of view on corporate media and how that most certainly does influence point of view.  His proof of the pudding was in that very event.  For an unknown reason the discussion had to be moved from the heart of London to the outskirts of the city not once, but twice.  Also Assange did not stay for the whole talk.  Zizek wrapped up by himself.  Which makes me wonder what restrictions Assange had that he can't even talk about.  The point was that the government has no control over information which means that in a capitalist world capitalists own information.  That information is power... Capitalists have power over our representatives in government.  This is evident in more than just the United States.

So, it is true what they say.  Julian Assange and Slavo Zizek are the most dangerous men in the world.  Symbolic of a great source and an excellent journalist.  This is why they are attacked publicly.  This is why government is not afraid to make examples out of them.  They dare to be radical.
